Stair Parlor {August 2013}

While I’m taking my readers through a tour of my home and its changes this August, I’d be remiss if I did not share my favorite table in the stair parlor.

The table is one of my favorite pieces of furniture. It is made with a vintage metal Parisian clock face and a draftsman’s table base.

I use the table more as an “entry table”. Atop the table, there is always a seasonal floral in a glass vase. The flowers change with the seasons. Right now, the vase features several stems of white agapanthus.

Some of my favorite decorating books are stacked around the vase and topped with some of my favorite accent boxes.

Thanks again for touring with me and the nice comments.

I placed my newest House Proud book on the secretary opened to (you guessed it!) chapter 7.

  6. That's one fine table, Ron. I'd love to have an entry large enough to hold a round table such as yours. It's the perfect way to greet one's guest and set the stage for the beauty of your home.

  7. I have loved that table from the first time you featured the stair parlor in one of your blogs. I have to agree that it is my favorite piece of furniture in your lovely home. I cannot wait for that book which features your home to get to Chic Chateau--I'm going to go straight to Chapter 7 before I look at any of the others! Have a great day! xoxo

  8. Ron, that table has been one of my fave things in your home! Love the demijohns underneath; and how great to place the book on the secretary, opened to your own home! It looks great!

  9. I clicked on your photo from Coastal Charm link-party because it was so beautiful. I should have known it was Uptown Acorn! I would love to have a space for a table like that. My husband says I can't leave any horizontal surface undecorated!
    Beautiful.
