SPOOKTACULAR October {Fresh Tulips}

 How do October and tulips go together? I have no idea, but these tulips caught my eye when I walked into Whole Foods last week. The colors of the tulips look Fall to me. Along with coleus cut from the yard, the tulips look great on the dining table and in the sunroom. The tulips certainly have a mind of their own and grow where they want to,

I love how the coleus roots in the water. Each is planted in my garden afterwards.

 The crows have landed at the Acorn Cottage and are perched for a spooktacular Halloween season. They have flown all over the front yard.

SPOOKTACULAR October {Hand Painted Chinoiserie Pumpkins}

 I love the look of the hand painted chinoiserie pumpkins and how well they coordinate with the blue and white ginger jars inthe living room. The larger chinoiserie pumpkins were purchased from a booth at Zele on Magazine Street last October. They are by Taylor Anne Design.

The smallest one on the coffee table was purchased recently from Tom Tom and Company online (sold out).

SPOOKTACULAR October {Hazel's Market for Pumpkins}

You asked. Here is where we get our perfect pumpkins annually.

For the past few years on our way out of Point Clear/Fairhope, J and I make a pit stop at Hazel's Market in Daphne, AL for all of our pumpkin needs. I have never seen so many different varieties of pumpkins and gourds. The selection is vast, and the pumpkins are so healthy.

SPOOKTACULAR October {The Grand Hotel, Fall Break}

 It has been a tradition of ours ever since I started at St. Paul's Episcopal to take a trip to the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, AL. 

J & I did exactly what I wanted..... relaxed!!!! Spending our days laying by the adult pool sipping libations, eating in the resort restaurants/bars, and sharing nightcaps made for a perfect Fall holiday.

A Spooktacular Halloween {The Fe Chef}

After a friend (Paula Ragas) sent me this idea on facebook, I knew I had to be the Iron Chef. For those of you who do not know, I am a secondary science major who majored in chemistry education with a minor in biology. Being a science educator, I could not wait to get the costume together for today, October 31.

The costume is also perfect for this year's theme in my classroom, the Periodic Table of Elements. If you missed my classroom theme post, click HERE.

I will be doing a costume change for this afternoon's assembly. Stay tuned.
