If You Dare {Halloween: Witches}

 I shared Agnes, the porch witch, a couple weeks ago, so I thought it would be fitting to share a couple more around the house.

Don't tell Agnes, but Esmerelda is my favorite. She was purchased years ago and makes an appearance each Halloween season. This year, she stands at attention in the sunroom.

The smaller papier mache witch candy bucket was purchased at my favorite Seattle retailer, Timothy DeClue Collection. She's a fun addition to the sunroom bookcase. She would even look fabulous on a stack of books.

Hunkering Down {T.S. Cristobal Brunch}

As we are hunkering down for Tropical Storm Cristobal, J and I enjoyed a delicious brunch from Southern Hospitality Catering, a favorite of ours during the quarantine.

Breakfast pizzas (ham & gruyere) served on our Caskata dinnerware surrounded with fresh flowers made for a delightful brunch on a lazy Sunday morning.

We also skipped the alcohol. I know. I know. You were expecting mimosas and/or bloody Marys, but we both were not feeling it today. I need to check my temperature. LOL!

Halloween Tour {Sunroom}

More Halloween decorations are found in the sunroom. Esmeralda, the witch, ceramic pumpkins, and a papier mache witch basket give the room its "spooktacular" spirit.

The papier mache' witch candy basket is a new addition this season. It comes straight from Seattle's great Timothy De Clue Collection. I am told that there are just a few left of these in stock, so call and get yours shipped today. Just look how cool these are...

An arrangement of citrus and pine branches fill the vase in the windows along with a glittered black crow perched at attention.

Halloween here in New Orleans is always a fun time for young and old alike.

Easter at Acorn Cottage {Bunnies, Eggs, and Blooms}

Come inside!

Again, I do not do much Easter decorating except for a few bunnies, some gilded eggs, and various blooms. Take a look at Easter in the living and sun rooms.

I love this brass bunny purchased through Timothy DeClue Collection in Seattle.

It's Easter season, y'all!

Crabs and Nets Platter {Caskata}

I cannot wait to do some summertime entertaining. I love this crabs and nets platter I received recently from BFF Camie and family. The size is generous, and I could visualize it filled with cheeses, grapes, and more deliciousness.

It is from Caskata and was purchased as part of our wedding registry from the Timothy DeClue Collection. I am loving all of the selections from the Caskata collection. Entertaining will be so much fun.

Beach Stripe Monogrammed Platter {Caskata}

I love this platter that J and I received from friends from our wedding registry from the Timothy DeClue Collection. The beach stripe platter by Caskata monogrammed in a simple R|J block font. The dishes will be so fun to use for many, many years.

I love the beach. I love beach stripes. I love monograms. Thanks, Pepper & Terry.

When the Gifts...

match the decor!

I am always so appreciative of the amazing gifts sent to J and I for our recent celebration of marriage. After 20 years of being a couple, we were so happy to finally make our love legal and receive the rights due to any couple.

We received the following from our great friends from Timothy DeClue in Downtown Seattle where we decided to register. I know it makes little sense to some folks that we decided to register so far away, but the online registry is easy peasy.

I adore the gift wrap of the Timothy De Clue Collection, and I love even more that it goes so well will my parlor decor. LOL!

What's inside you might ask?

  • Beautiful, timeless coupes which were made in Seattle

Thanks, Timothy, Bert, and Roxanna! Cheers to you all.

A Spring Mantle

It is always fun to change up the parlor mantle for the seasons. It has certainly felt like spring lately, so a few changes on the mantle were required.

White lilies were added along with palmetto leaves to the glass agate vases. White lilies have always been a favorite of mine.

Pewter and shell sea life from Timothy De Clue in Seattle surround a Lafco Sea & Dune candle. Two Laurel Wilder reverse decoupaged New Orleans door plates are also perfect for the season.

I love the simplistic look of the mantle this spring season.

Wedding Registry: Ron & Jeff

Thanks for all your thoughtful comments on the news of our recent wedding. J and I are so happy and content.

J and I are registered with one of my favorite shops in Seattle, Washington. Now, we do not expect you to travel to Seattle, you can peruse our registry at:

The online registry was so easy to set up, and we have been fans of the Timothy DeClue Collection for a while.

Looking like Spring on the Mantle

There's always a lull after the Mardi Gras decorations are put away. So with guests coming to town and temperatures in the 80s, I decided to add a couple vases with bunches of tulips from Dunn & Sonnier

Each vase features a gold leaf stripe affixed with an agate. The brass bunny and fox from Timothy DeClue Collection are fun to use. Two New Orleans door trays exclusive to Hazelnut make a nice backdrop, and a Baobab Pearl candle from Sotre sets the sense of smell.
