Best of 2025 {Most Viewed Posts}

 Though I didn’t blog as regularly in 2025, I always love taking a moment to look back at the posts that resonated most with you. Revisiting these favorites feels like flipping through a well-loved scrapbook—full of moments you were especially drawn to and stories that sparked connection.

As you might guess, the most-viewed posts of the year centered around the unforgettable snowfall in New Orleans last January. It was truly an extraordinary and exciting time for New Orleanians, and sharing that rare winter magic clearly struck a chord. From there, posts highlighting my love of seasonal decorating and glimpses of my travels rounded out the list—topics that continue to bring me joy and, thankfully, seem to interest you as well.

Below is a look at the most-viewed posts of 2025. As always, thank you for following along, for reading, and for being part of this little corner of my world. I look forward to sharing more with you in 2026 and hope to see even more of you in the year ahead. Cheers!

Classroom Theme {Think Like A Scientist}

This year in my classroom, the theme is “Think like a scientist.” I want every one of my students—whether they’re studying Earth Science, Life Science, or Physical Science—to step into class each day ready to explore the world through the lens of a scientist.

When students think like scientists, they don’t just memorize facts. Instead, they practice important science skills such as:

  • Observing carefully what’s happening around them

  • Hypothesizing about what might be true or what could happen

  • Evaluating data and evidence before forming conclusions

  • Inferring meaning from patterns and results

  • Investigating through experiments and research

  • Classifying information and organizing what they discover

Hands-on lab activities are a huge part of this process. By experimenting, testing ideas, and sometimes even failing and trying again, students experience science the way real scientists do—through curiosity, persistence, and discovery.

To set the tone, I’ve prepared our classroom and hallway space to welcome my 6th–8th grade scientists. Bright visuals, thought-provoking quotes, and science-themed displays remind students daily of our shared goal: to think like scientists in everything we do.

This year, my students won’t just learn science—they’ll practice being scientists. I’m excited to watch their curiosity grow and their scientific thinking skills strengthen!

Classroom Theme {Elements of Success}

 Each year I love to share my theme for the science classroom/lab. This year I chose a science-related theme, Elements of a Successful Student. Chemical symbols abound and represent the many needs of the science classroom. From students to labels, the symbols (some real, some fictious) make for an entertaining theme.

Take a look into this year's theme:
